Aca en argentina tuvimos algunas iniciativas, la mas durarera viene siendo el premio Banda Dibujada, aunque no alcanza ni la difusion ni la potencia que los Eisner. Claro que ellos alla tienen una de las industrias mas poderosas del mundo.

No suelo estar 100% de acuerdo con los premios otorgados, pero llegar a competir en los EISNERS es garantia de por lo menos una buena historia.

Para mi, en esta edicion gana Hawkeye de cabeza como continuing series, SAGA como Best New Series

En estados unidos tienen un premio parecido a nuestro premio Solano Lopez, salvo que lo vienen haciendo hace unos cuantos años mas y con categorias muy detalladas.

Ironia aparte, este tipo de reconocimiento da que hablar siempre. Por ejemplo, las mejores obras que se llevaron premios no fuerons mainstream de superheroes. Excelente performance Asterios Polyp de Mazuchelli. Wondeful Wizard of Oz sigue sacando agua de las piedras y Brubaker es ya una figurita repetida.

Como todos los años llegan los premios a la industria del comic yanqui mas importantes: los Eisner. Y como sucediera otras veces, hay un argentino colado entre los nominados.

Se trata de Mauro Cascioli (si, es el hijo del que fuera director de la revista Humor, y gran caricaturista Andres Cascioli) por su trabajo como dibujante de Cry for Justice, serie sobre la liga de la justicia guionizada por James Robinson.

Antes supo relevar a Porter en la maxiserie The Trials of Shazam y colaborador con Olivetti durante muchos años.

Sera la gran campanella? Ganaremos tambien el mundial?

Como todos sabran ya a estas alturas, los premios Eisner son lo mas parecido al "oscar" de la industria de los comics. Este año la verdad es que la competencia viene bastante reñida, porque hay artistas bastante veteranos.

Por otro lado una curiosidad, es que poco (quizas demasiado poco) pero poco a poco se van imponiendo algunas obras de manga... un dato a tener en cuenta.

Primer y controvertido film de Frank Miller, se estrena hoy en la argentina la pelicula The Spirit, basada en la popular obra del legendario Will Eisner.

Con una estetica que le debe mucho, pero muchisimo a Sin City, pero mas naif en la historia y los contenidos. La pelicula esta protagonizada por Jaime King, Gabriel Macht, Dan Gerrity y otros como Samuel Jakcson y Scarlet Johansson.

La historia arranca con el policía Denny Colt que es acribillado por delincuentes, enterrado con todos los honores, milagrosamente resucita y sale de su tumba.

Asi se convertiría en un vigilante nocturno y un héroe de las masas, como cualquier héroe tiene sus enemigos oficiales, The Octopus se enfrenta a su antítesis The Spirit, acribillándose y reviviendo sólo para volverse a enfrentar.

Nuevos villanos aparecen, Sand Saref, la antigua novia de Colt, que regresa después de muchos años convertida en una Femme Fatale, acusada de cometer un crimen, ante la incredulidad The Spirit, donde Saref en contubernio con The Octupus planean un gran golpe que pone en peligro al mundo libre ante el pensamiento fascista de un enemigo declarado.

El origen de Spirit esta vinculado a Octopus y la pelea final definirá las lealtades, Spirit está en la linea de tiro.

La pelicula fue duramente criticada por la prensa especializada yanqui, aunque el nombre del creador de comics y del personaje (muy popular alla) ha tenido un arrastre interesante en las taquillas. ¿Un clasico para bajar de internet?

En Clarin sacaron una entrevista a los protagonistas, la rubia infartante de Scarlet Johansson y al actor que se prende en todas, Samuel jackson.
